The new principal of Southside High School was announced by Fort Smith Public Schools on Thursday evening.
Jeff Prewitt will be the new principal of Southside High School. He has been Deputy Principal of Southside High School since 2018.
“I am very honored and honored to have the opportunity to serve the Southside community in the role of building manager,” Prewitt said in a press release. “There are a lot of exciting things going on at Southside, and to be able to serve students, staff and families right now is a real blessing.”

The announcement comes after the Fort Smith Board of Education approved the resignation of Southside Principal Lisa Miller on June 28 after three years in the post. Miller quit to be closer to her family and had been in the school district for 18 years, she said.
